Clouds, written and performed with love, passion and feeling, for all the loving, passionate and beautiful people in my life that make this world a better a place because they are in it.
I recently had the delightful opportunity to be interviewed by my old friend Gary Dunn for The Profile.
Gary and I have known each other in one form or another since our high-school days in Whyalla, and have worked together many times, at Kosmic as well as at various gigs and events.
The beauty of the situation is that we know and understand each other so well. The interview covers a lot of ground, though we could have gone on for much longer.
My career has been an interesting one for sure, even if it did not pan out as expected. We cover the Brian May saga, my UK experiences and much more. Watch the video for more!
Many thanks to Mark Whitehouse and all at Pro Copy, Alan Simpson, Gary Dunn and Phil Strachan.
Donna and Graham Greene did the most wonderful thing for me whilst I was in Bangkok.
Timed to be in my inbox when I awoke from surgery was a certificate of registration telling me that they had purchased the naming rights to a star.
Whodathunk? (As Donna would often say).
What a lovely gesture, I was humbled and still am!

And Now For 2017: I can’t stop thinking about all that has happened in 2016. It was a major landmark year in my life. I am still overly emotional about it. But, now it is time to face 2017.
Musically there are some great opportunities on the horizon. The completion of the new ‘Into The Black’ album being one of the most challenging and exciting.
There is also the new RokChix project, which should be immense fun, and more Houses Of The Holy, True Spirit & Dark Universe shows.
Personally, I face more mountains to climb. The highest being the one I place before myself.
My expectations often exceed my capabilities, and lofty ideals have many times led to disappointment. The first step is to be rational and set realistic goals.
Setting the bar too high has its benefits, but sometimes you have to be happy with smaller wins or else end up in that ‘dark’ place yet again.
That also goes for my new post transition life. If only I could relax and smell the roses, to slow down and just be for a while. Alas, that is never moi, but it is a lesson I must learn.
A new year’s resolution there may be in that last statement.
“Don’t try so hard and let what will be, be”.
J – Jan 3, 2017 (Diary Excerpt)
Well, the last six months has been quite an eventful ride. From February 2016 I have seen my Facebook, work and public unveiling, an unforgettable Dark Universe CD launch, and the trip of destiny to be re-birthed with Dr. Saran.
It’s Whatever You Want It To Be
The last few months have been all about recovery, finding myself and learning to become the woman I always wanted to be.
There have been some casualties along the way, some I can work on and some that are not redeemable. There are also many new friends that I hold very dear. You know who you are and I love you darlings.
Getting back into rewarding employment has been the most difficult. I find myself relying more on my music to get me through, which may be a godsend but I will come up with something and overcome. I was naive to expect anything else I do concede.
I am very content in most respects, and will always remember my experience in Bangkok as one of the times of my life. It was the most poignant, beautiful moment when Dr. S released me from my drainage lines and plaster.
I walked over to the hospital room window, opened it to feel a gust of lovely warm air, a golden sunset and the sound of monks chanting from the Golden Temple outside. It was a magical moment forever etched in my heart.
Returning home to Australia as moi was a glorious feeling. Pure elation. I have been very fortunate indeed.
Musically I have made some great strides forward. It was interesting to see how things would go there.
Into The Black (AKA Something Something Something)
As fate would have it, I wrote the new opening song of the new album ‘7th Heaven’ just before leaving for Dr. Saran, and then followed up with the third song, which is called ‘Shatter.’
7th Heaven is an ode to reaching for your dream. Bright and powerful but with my traditional subtext of anger here and there. A curse with a smile!
Shatter came from a gentle chord pattern that just came out when I returned from Dr. S. It was the only thing I played for weeks and would not go away. I paired it up with a random chord thing I had in another ballad, sped it up a tad, and thus it was born.
Shatter is bittersweet. It is about the feelings of loss we encounter on our journeys. One of the favorite songs I have written. Drenched in real, deep emotion.
Whatever is a leftover from the original Dark Universe pool of songs. It is rather stark. The theme being physical and mental abuse and family breakdown. Stuart James convinced me to add it to the album. I was a bit worried about so much darkness on the record, but why not go mad.
The last song to come for the new album is Into The Black. Another song featuring my second favorite color, Black. For this one I wanted it to be utterly bombastic and heavy. I think I managed that. I love watching Stuart James turn into a rabid wild man when we listen to playbacks! It still has an element of niceness in it somewhere, but that is also bittersweet, as ever. Another new favorite for me.
Jaime Page’s Dark Universe
Into The Black Track Listing:
- 7th Heaven
- Into The Black
- Don’t Go
- Bleed Me Dry
- Falling In A Dream
- Unchain My Heart
- Weight Of The World
- Alone at The End Of The World
The new album is well underway and should be available early in 2017. I must say I can’t wait to unleash it.
More Houses Of The Holy and True Spirit will be announced soon.
Without going deeply into specifics, my life is very shortly going to be changed forever.
The true spirit that lies inside of me has been quietly growing stronger and is now preparing to fly, literally! This Monday I board my flight of destiny.
The years of pain and struggle have been dissolving before my eyes, replaced by a surreal, beautiful new reality. I see the world through brand new eyes, and I love that.
There will be more pain to come I am sure, but I am prepared to face the challenges.
I am deeply indebted to all of you, my special friends and family that have given me so much unconditional love.
Your support has been invaluable, whether it is a hug, a kind word, deed, financial or otherwise.
It is time to break with the past in more ways than one, and this is the biggest leap of faith I have ever undertaken.
And so, in saying that, I would also like to say a thank you and goodbye to all my friends and customers from my time at Kosmic.
I am currently working on the Dark Universe Deluxe Edition, and I am very proud of our latest songs. Alone At The End Of The World, Falling In A Dream, Bleed Me Dry, Weight Of The World and Don’t Go, 7, plus a few ‘bonus’ tracks. I hope you like them!!
I do intend to keep making music and hope to find a new career path, possibly in a new area. I can only wish and hope for the best, which I am sure is still to come.
See you on the other side.
I am deeply humbled to have this beautiful Yoga Mala dedicated to me. I cannot thank Honey at Yoga Zenith enough for this honor, as well as our lovely group of gorgeous girls of which Kerry and I have grown to love.
This event comes during a time of major change in my life, and there will be no going back. It has been an amazing journey, spiritually, emotionally and physically. My transition is soon to reach it’s natural conclusion, and this is perfect timing.
Yoga Mala – Zen Flow For Jaime Page – Event Link
Now and Zen something special happens in the universe, and I feel blessed to have found my way here.
Our sessions are the highlight of my week, and I always walk away feeling loved, refreshed, beautiful and happy.
From Honey @ Yoga Zenith on Facebook
Yes, Yes, Yes! It’s time for YOGA MALA!! A very special one indeed!
When Jaime Page first came to attend my yoga class 4 months ago, with her partner, I welcomed them both as all other students with whom I share practices. Soon after that, I felt so honour that Jaime wrote to me to share her story, her journey.
I will now let you explore to read more about Jaime here & sincerely hope her story touch your hearts. Like it does, with mine!
To all my students who practised Yoga Mala in the past with me, you know our traditions, practising Yoga Mala to celebrate Equinox! All proceeds from Yoga Mala Practices by Yoga Zenith are to be donated to community causes!
And this time, our Mala is to help a friend, a member of our extended family!
With so much love & respect to Jaime & her partner Kerry, I would like to dedicate this practice of YOGA Mala to them both!
The Equinox is one of the most powerful days of the year, a time of balance and renewal when our mind, body and spirit open themselves up to receive the revitalizing Prana of the earth and sun.
We will celebrate this shift in the seasons with a transformative celebration of 108 sun salutations to honor the sun, the earth, and our own spirit.
A Yoga Mala is a series of 108 Sun Salutations, as an energizing, healing, and meditative way to welcome the change of season, to share energy, sweat, rejuvenate, and express gratitude for the many blessings of life.
This is an amazing opportunity to burn off any ‘crud’ in the system, and to empower yourself to move into your life fearlessly.
Do not fret, this is a lot easier than it sounds! The collective power of the group will create the fuel to support you in this fun, heart-opening practice. And yes, the more people, the better!
Equinox is a time of balancing in our lives, representing fertility, creation, and renewal. It is a chance to gently review ourselves and rejuvenate our relationships with clarity of mind and new perspectives. The vitality of the sun brings us dynamism, courage, and energy as we move toward longer days, blossoms, and rebirth.
So mark this date, join me & let’s experience the spirit of the Yoga Mala, experience the power of a moving meditation, heal yourself & help others to heal.

The Special Session on Transgender Voice actually features an absolute wealth of technical info in regards to treatment and surgeries for trans people. It does take patience to sit through it but the rewards are there if you persist!
A painful thing for both your face/body and your purse. There are many good salons that provide excellent service. For good value, I would look at Clearskin in Shenton Park. They are rather nice! Call 08 9388 1808. Find your closest location here.
My big tip: Ask your GP or Endo about Vaniqa cream. It works quite well. Prescription only. Used for post-menopausal hair growth. Expensive but great when paired with IPL or Electrolysis. Find out more about Vaniqa.
Another excellent choice for quality Laser is www.laserskincare.com.au/. Dr Opie recommends them highly though I cannot vouch for them as have not tried them.
Surgery is an intensely personal subject that requires a lot of thought, support, and can cost you a lot of money. When you are ready to research the options there are three respected Thailand clinics that may be of particular interest. I can only comment on the ones that I have had some experience with or that friends have had good experiences at. This is just a guide, make your own decisions based on what is right for you.
The Preecha Aesthetic Institute – PAI is very popular. Having met them they are very knowledgeable, caring and helpful. Their attention to detail is notable. I know many that have used them and are very happy. Dr Burin is very talented, in you will love Bune, darlings 😉
The plus sides with PAI include being very close to the PAI clinic and also the hospital itself. They use Piyavate at this point. The hospital is a little older than some, but the care is very good. They recommend the Hotel Salil, which is very comfortable, with affordable meals and breakfast included. All these little things make for a more stress-free experience. There is also easy access for basic shopping close by, and Central Plaza Rama 9 is a great place for a more retail therapy vibe.
The Dr Saran was very kind to me and the care was very good indeed. He used the Bangkok Hospital Chinatown, which was magnificent. There is a beautiful and affordable hotel close by named Shanghai Mansions. Be warned though that post surgery, you may want a hotel closer to the clinic as the drive is not always easy. Dr Saran can be very busy, and you may also wait longer times for consultations pre and post surgery. When you do get to see Dr S he is kind, fun, and very knowledgeable. I am very proud to know him.
Dr Suporn. I know many that have had wonderful experiences there, and the quality of work is excellent. I can’t make any further comment there as I don’t know!

On Saturday February 20 2016 , I was privileged to be a part of a beautiful Make A Wish presentation to John Surman at Penny Lane music school in Fremantle. On behalf of Kosmic, I presented John with a Fender Custom Shop ’69 Relic Stratocaster that was very much in the Jimi Hendrix ‘Woodstock’ mold. A special guitar for a special person.
We also furnished John with a Fender Mustang III amplifier and a swag of accessories.
With family, friends and Make A Wish volunteers in attendance, John led his band of friends, Richard from Penny Lane and myself through rousing renditions of Hey Joe, Foxy Lady, and Stepping Stone, the solo during Hey Joe bringing the crowd to their feet. His band were rocking, and It was an honour for me to get to play with them.
John is so passionate about his music, and it shows. His playing was superb, and he was every bit the rock star though his band did their best to upstage him, as rock stars do.
Personally, I wish all the very best to John, Angie and his lovely family and hope that I helped to make a difference.
What Make A Wish do is a beautiful thing. It brings happiness to where it is most needed, and all of us at Kosmic are proud to have been able to help and be a part of it.
Lately it seems we have unwittingly opened up a stream of goodwill of enormous magnitude, and what started as a simple gesture is fast becoming a torrent of emotion. It is absolute proof as to the cause and effect of paying it forward, and now again we have another story to tell, one of incredible struggle, bravery and courage, not only for the main character but also another that has been dealt some blows and is still brave enough to stand up and do something to help.
I have no doubt that many people know of the tribulations Kim Saunders has faced recently and we have all stood by her and supported her, the lovely, kind person that she is. Kim has asked for some help from us to help someone dear to her, someone that is very well known to the Music Industry, and a person that has faced agonising circumstances.
Kim is coming along tomorrow to our ‘Pay It Forward’ gig. She is going to bring someone who most people would know but may not recognise and that is her ex husband Sarah (Steve) Tonin (Saunders). Sarah has had an enormous struggle this past decade. The enormity of the transgender issue, huge financial problems, drug problems (thankfully now over), inability to go through with a total sex change due to no finances which causes serious depression. Loss of his family, loss of his parents support, and of course the struggle they have had and the impact on their son.
In Kim’s own words…
“There is another family he misses – the Music Industry family. Over the years she has had many people turn their back, including her closest friend. That has resulted in her living a reclusive life, afraid of rejection, rejecting before being rejected, depressed, no confidence, isolated from her previous life and of course no longer operating lights which I can tell you she lived and breathed.”
“Anyway I wanted to ask you guys a favour, , but I wondered if there was someway tomorrow night that the industry could reach out to Sarah with friendship and acceptance… shake hands, say hello, give a hug, treat her like a human being not a freak, have a conversation even… hell, if she is up for it and no one minds, maybe even the lighting desk for a song… she may refuse I don’t know…”
“She is confronting to look at 6’2″, and then there are the heels. It can be hard to look at a person you have known as a man for years, dressed and speaking as a woman, but deep down the same person is there.”
“It really saddens me to see how hard not being a part of what she loves has been for her, it was a gutsy life choice she made to not live a lie and it cost her everything. Music has saved her life, that I do know for sure. She has an old beaten up guitar named ‘Watson’ that I loaned her years ago. She told me only today that without that old girl she would have ended her life… I guess ‘Watson’ really isn’t mine anymore.”
“Anyway, if there is some way that some love and support can be extended to an old Industry person who really needs, it would mean more that you could imagine, and I would be personally grateful” Kim…
All of us involved in the band, crew and the birthday gig are happy to extend the hand of friendship to Sarah, to welcome her back to the fold, and she is also totally welcome to run the lighting desk for a song or two. We ask that you all extend the same hand of friendship, to show your kindness also, and make her feel most welcome.
