Letting Go Lyrics

“Let go the impossible, impossible things may happen…”

Letting Go

I know there’s somewhere deep inside
A secret place where you can hide…
Where you can be what you are
Be that glittering star

Don’t ever turn back and run
Your journeys only just begun
You got to take up the fight
Don’t be afraid of the light…

You can’t keep holding on
When you’re feeling it’s gone
You have the will to survive
So keep your freedom alive

And don’t let me hold you down
Cause maybe I won’t be around
Just one moment, it’s gone
And I’ll keep moving along…

You know it’s time for LETTING GO break free
(Just) Take your chances then you run baby
You know it’s time for LETTING GO maybe
Take your chances then you run baby
Far away from here…

You know it’s time for LETTING GO break free
(Just) Take your chances then you run baby
You know it’s time for LETTING GO maybe
Take your chances then you run baby
Far away from here…

I know theres something left for you
You still have so much more to do
I see that hunger in your eyes
(Let it) Take you where your spirit flies

You know it’s time for LETTING GO break free
(Just) Take your chances then you run baby
You know it’s time for LETTING GO maybe
Take your chances then you run baby
Far away from here…

You know it’s time for LETTING GO break free
(Just) Take your chances then you run baby
You know it’s time for LETTING GO maybe
Take your chances then you run baby
Far away from here…

Dark Universe Deluxe Edition

After the joy and excitement of seeing the Dark Universe CD come to life, I now have the amazing opportunity to finish what I started!

Here is a look at what is to come.

7 – My Seventh Heaven.

I love numerology, and this one wrote itself. It is about the triumph over adversity and the feeling that none can drag you down. A song about Freedom and empowerment. This one will surely hit a few nerves, but at the same time be the most uplifting song I have ever written. It is the polar opposite of Deepest Black. I love this song!

Falling In A Dream

This one is about love, loss, yearning, and of course, dreaming. A rather emotional one for me. We all dream, but few dare to try and live the dream. It is also about surrendering yourself and letting yourself go, to be free and take a chance.

Alone At The End Of The World

I have been there so many times. So alone. At the end. This one was written on a very sad day indeed. I am sure we have all been there at some time.

Bleed Me Dry

I wrote this from two perspectives. One of which was based on watching a documentary about the death of Jimi Hendrix and the managerial politics that may have had a hand in this awful tragedy.

The other side was oddly a Lady Gaga influence would you believe. I like some of her writing and arrangements. An unusual mix, but full of emotion. This song could be about anyone being used and spat out.

Don’t Go

Essentially, Don’t Go is a plea to myself not to give in when I am at my lowest ebb. It is about keeping the faith when all is lost.

There will be some extra bonus tracks. Up to four if all goes well. I have put everything I have into these songs, and I pray that you will love them too.

Australian Guitar Mag Article

Recently, one of my childhood dreams came true with the publication of my story in Australian Guitar Magazine. That is one of the proudest moments.

Peter Hodgson wrote a superb, sensitive article that will live with me forever as one of the highlights of my life.

Not only that but the issue features Prince on the cover. The Prince and Princess of rock as my beloved partner put it! Plus you get FREE purple picks, and heaps of other great articles. It is certainly a collectors edition for me. I have a horde piled up already, sealed of course.

Support this excellent magazine and the guitarists they help to promote. Subscribe and show your love for this legendary instrument that we all get so obsessive about!

UPDATE: Melbourne Guitar Show August 6/7 2016

If you are in Melbourne for the Australian Guitar Show, be sure to stop by the Peavey stand and say hi to Sandra Calvezzi. Sandra will be promoting Peavey, but will also have some copies of Dark Universe available, and we may have some copies of the mag also to give away for the first few copies sold.

Hair Removal

A painful thing for both your face/body and your purse. There are many good salons that provide excellent service. For good value,  I would look at Clearskin in Shenton Park. They are rather nice! Call 08 9388 1808. Find your closest location here.

My big tip: Ask your GP or Endo about Vaniqa cream. It works quite well. Prescription only. Used for post-menopausal hair growth. Expensive but great when paired with IPL or Electrolysis. Find out more about Vaniqa.

Another excellent choice for quality Laser is www.laserskincare.com.au/. Dr Opie recommends them highly though I cannot vouch for them as have not tried them.

Surgery

Surgery is an intensely personal subject that requires a lot of thought, support, and can cost you a lot of money. When you are ready to research the options there are three respected Thailand clinics that may be of particular interest. I can only comment on the ones that I have had some experience with or that friends have had good experiences at. This is just a guide, make your own decisions based on what is right for you.

PAI

The Preecha Aesthetic Institute – PAI is very popular. Having met them they are very knowledgeable, caring and helpful. Their attention to detail is notable. I know many that have used them and are very happy. Dr Burin is very talented, in you will love Bune, darlings 😉

The plus sides with PAI include being very close to the PAI clinic and also the hospital itself. They use Piyavate at this point. The hospital is a little older than some, but the care is very good. They recommend the Hotel Salil, which is very comfortable, with affordable meals and breakfast included. All these little things make for a more stress-free experience. There is also easy access for basic shopping close by, and Central Plaza Rama 9 is a great place for a more retail therapy vibe.

Dr Saran

The Dr Saran was very kind to me and the care was very good indeed. He used the Bangkok Hospital Chinatown, which was magnificent. There is a beautiful and affordable hotel close by named Shanghai Mansions. Be warned though that post surgery, you may want a hotel closer to the clinic as the drive is not always easy. Dr Saran can be very busy, and you may also wait longer times for consultations pre and post surgery. When you do get to see Dr S he is kind, fun, and very knowledgeable. I am very proud to know him.

Dr Suporn

Dr Suporn. I know many that have had wonderful experiences there, and the quality of work is excellent. I can’t make any further comment there as I don’t know!

My Dark Place – Full Of Light!

This post is about my Dark Universe CD, the story behind the music. A very personal story, yearning for release for most of my life. I don’t expect all to understand, but this is who I am, and this is my life.

I am Transgender/Intersex. ***

There it is. It’s out there. I have been this way as long as I can remember. I have lived with a deep melancholy sadness for all of this time. It has burned inside of me. I have tried to hide, created a protective shell, denied myself happiness, and channeled that emotion and pain into my music.

I was left feeling worthless, looking for an escape from this world, a better place. My dark place, my Dark Universe.

That is the crux of my story.

I assumed it was maybe God’s (or some other supreme spiritual beings) way of giving with one hand and taking with another.

Sometimes love is not enough and despite the deep love of family and friends, I could not overcome the feelings of sadness and isolation.

I did my best to be a caring, loving, giving person and had some wins and losses. The main loss being my true self.

As you listen to the music and follow the lyrics of Dark Universe you will see many clues as to my feelings, although I did write the songs with the intention of making them open to the listeners interpretation. If you read between the lines, you may see it, or you may find something else entirely.

My aim was to channel the emotions that we all feel about our lives into something that evoked an emotional response. Music and art are about emotion in my view, and you will see that there is a purpose to what is being played and sung.

This music is from the very darkest, deepest depths of my being. I am putting all my vulnerabilities on display. The one element I would like to be felt is hope. Dark as it may be in parts, there is a ray of hope in all I write, finding beauty in the sadness, and a chance to resolve, of light in every darkness.

And now, it is my chance to find that light, to reveal who I am, to both myself and the world. My music is my love and escape, but hopefully the ultimate path to truth and happiness.

I sincerely hope you find something to love on Dark Universe, and that you can also find a place for me in your hearts and take me for who I am.

Love and peace

I have total support from my lovely wife & partner Kerry, my Mum and Dad, which is priceless, and overwhelming support from my close friends, family, many bandmates past and present, and all at Kosmic.

All About Sarah – Welcome Back…

RFD

Lately it seems we have unwittingly opened up a stream of goodwill of enormous magnitude, and what started as a simple gesture is fast becoming a torrent of emotion. It is absolute proof as to the cause and effect of paying it forward, and now again we have another story to tell, one of incredible struggle, bravery and courage, not only for the main character but also another that has been dealt some blows and is still brave enough to stand up and do something to help.

I have no doubt that many people know of the tribulations Kim Saunders has faced recently and we have all stood by her and supported her, the lovely, kind person that she is. Kim has asked for some help from us to help someone dear to her, someone that is very well known to the Music Industry, and a person that has faced agonising circumstances.

Kim is coming along tomorrow to our ‘Pay It Forward’ gig. She is going to bring someone who most people would know but may not recognise and that is her ex husband Sarah (Steve) Tonin (Saunders). Sarah has had an enormous struggle this past decade. The enormity of the transgender issue, huge financial problems, drug problems (thankfully now over), inability to go through with a total sex change due to no finances which causes serious depression. Loss of his family, loss of his parents support, and of course the struggle they have had and the impact on their son.

In Kim’s own words…

“There is another family he misses – the Music Industry family. Over the years she has had many people turn their back, including her closest friend. That has resulted in her living a reclusive life, afraid of rejection, rejecting before being rejected, depressed, no confidence, isolated from her previous life and of course no longer operating lights which I can tell you she lived and breathed.”

“Anyway I wanted to ask you guys a favour, , but I wondered if there was someway tomorrow night that the industry could reach out to Sarah with friendship and acceptance… shake hands, say hello, give a hug, treat her like a human being not a freak, have a conversation even… hell, if she is up for it and no one minds, maybe even the lighting desk for a song… she may refuse I don’t know…”

“She is confronting to look at 6’2″, and then there are the heels. It can be hard to look at a person you have known as a man for years, dressed and speaking as a woman, but deep down the same person is there.”

“It really saddens me to see how hard not being a part of what she loves has been for her, it was a gutsy life choice she made to not live a lie and it cost her everything. Music has saved her life, that I do know for sure. She has an old beaten up guitar named ‘Watson’ that I loaned her years ago. She told me only today that without that old girl she would have ended her life… I guess ‘Watson’ really isn’t mine anymore.”

“Anyway, if there is some way that some love and support can be extended to an old Industry person who really needs, it would mean more that you could imagine, and I would be personally grateful” Kim…

Postscript…

All of us involved in the band, crew and the birthday gig are happy to extend the hand of friendship to Sarah, to welcome her back to the fold, and she is also totally welcome to run the lighting desk for a song or two. We ask that you all extend the same hand of friendship, to show your kindness also, and make her feel most welcome.
